Esra Gocek is a Toronto-based intuitive painter. Born in NYC and raised in Istanbul Turkey, she was always creative and was constantly expressing her talents through painting and performance arts. She later graduated from Bosphorus University in Business Administration and worked 10 years in IBM. In her spare time, Esra studied Art History with a private group and an Art History teacher.

After leaving the corporate world, she opened an art studio with her four friends. From 1998 to 2000, they worked on organizing art exhibitions and learning and experimenting with expressive painting under the mentorship of professional artists Gul Ilgaz and Bilge Friedlaender. This experience allowed Esra to learn ways of expressing yourself via painting with a shamanic journey, healing painting processes and trusting the forms and colors coming from within intuitively. She believes that whatever we create is beautiful and being creative is a humans’ birthright.

Feeling the urge to understand herself more deeply and discovering her soul's essence, led her to travel around the world to intuitive painting classes, therapy works, energy works as well as working with shamans and visiting sacred places and healers. Also, Esra was always interested in psychology and she attended courses of ISRAGIC Gestalt Therapy in Israel, Transactional Therapy in Turkey, and Art Therapy in Denmark.

All of the training she has attended and her creativity opened up the path for her to organize the first Expressive Arts Therapy Training in Turkey. She also studied with Chris Zydel in the US on Intuitive and Expressive Painting Teacher Training. EMF Balancing Technique, Reconnection Energy Techniques Trainings led her to energy healing for herself and for others. For the last few years, she was working with Karmic Healing Center on Quantum Awareness Training. 

In 2009, Esra felt an urge and desire to continue expressing herself through visual arts. She was working on three art collections, later known as “Angels,” “Mandalas” and “Art Journaling,” which culminated in a Solo Art Exhibition called “The Universe Within.” Esra moved to Toronto, Canada in 2019 and is currently working on her new series called “Dream World” where she intuitively expresses her personal experiences and dreams onto canvas.
